NOT OUR STAIRCASE THANKFULLY.
Hi everyone, this blog is a work in progress, which basically means, like much in life, I haven't got a clue what I am doing.
The weather has suddenly turned. We have had some chilly days in Herefordshire - not the heaviest of frosts yet but still raw, with a biting northerly wind. so I am staying put. Alan tootles off to Tesco and\or our local shop called LOCKS, they stock everything from venison and goat to shotgun cartridges. together with a most amazing array of fresh fruit and vegetables, according to our neighbour, the owner goes to the wholesale markets in Birmingham. We could make wonderfully exotic recipes, if only we knew what some of the produce actually was.
So far we have had visitations from Phil and Angie next door ( East Wing) Phil is one of the property developers, both he and his wife are lovely. Mo who is Raymond's wife (West Wing) the other property developer. Both Raymond and Mo are from Hong Kong, equally lovely, and this morning Jeremy and Nadia ( Flat 1) Nadia is a potter (hobby) and is having the basement of their flat turned into a studio. They are from London, so as you can imagine funds are not limited. Nadia is Egyptian by birth so we are getting a pretty multicultural community going here. We have bought the tone down several notches. Nadia has promised to teach me how to make my own coffee mug. I am looking forward to doing that.
Paddy and I put the Christmas decorations up yesterday. We have a good sized garden shed here and a small loft, which means we are not as quite stuck for storage space as we thought we would be. We still have some items that keep being moved from room to room, they need to go.
I am slowly settling in, it seems amazing that we have been here a month already. I still miss you all very much, hardly a surprise as I have known most of you for nearly a quarter of a century. You will be glad to know my poorly knee is getting much better so we will be going out and about more, it will make the blog posts more exciting.
We have decided to invest in a bed settee, so guests can be accommodated more easily. An invite goes out to you all should you feel like a weekend in South Herefordshire. Helena and James are coming at Christmas, then going down to James's parents in Bristol, they will have to make do with whatever bedding arrangement we can dream up.
I should imagine Tarleton is all decked out for Christmas now, I used to love the tree in Mark Square
I hope that we get to go to the Cathedral here before Christmas, I hear that it is very lovely and well worth a visit. There are still several things I would like for the house. We have two blank walls in the sitting room etc there are some lovely items which I have found on ETSY and I am compiling a list. It is strange that what looked fine in Tarleton doesn't necessarily suit the flat. It has a very different feel, more of a personality of its own so to speak.

Let me know what you are all up to, keep wrapped up in the cold weather. I send my love as always.
The blog will look a bit more spruced up when I work out how to add and remove things.
